IF THERE ISNT A LIN - TOPH MOMENT ABOUT HOW HELL YEAH SHE MADE HER PROUD IM GOING TO CRY. HOW CAN YOU LOOK AT YOUR LIFE AND NOW BE PROUD LIN OMG MY CHILD SHHHHH
This is the way I see it though classmates…
It broke my heart to hear the Toph was not happy with the way that Lin and Suyin turned out. I mean what mother would when the two became two total opposites from each other. Lin went a little overboard by trying to become her mother while Suyin went crazy with freedom. Toph did not want her daughters to follow such unusual paths and because of this, both of her daughters don’t get along.
Although Lin was a bit abrasive during The Metal Clan, I have to feel sorry for Lin. She comes to her sister’s city, one that is very successful, and has to face the fact that her sister got everything that both of them wanted: a family and success. Being around her nieces, nephews, and sister must be hard because really Lin wanted to be part of that all along. She wanted to be part of it along with her own family and success that she built, but she doesn’t have that. Sure she is the Chief of Police, but does that make her happy? I don’t think so. It’s obvious she buries herself in work to make up for other time that she would be alone. Is it because she can’t have children? I don’t know if the writer’s would implement something like that into a supposed children show (we all know it is much more than that) but hey, they implemented half siblings. These writers have guts and I have much respect for them.
As for Suyin, I can see that she has regrets about certain things regarding her sister. I can see it in her eyes. But now she really wants to just have Lin part of her life. She has all this success and family but she even admitted that she didn’t feel completely happy. She needs Lin just as much as Lin needs Suyin and Toph.
I have a lot of ideas cooking in my head. I can’t wait for these new stories about the Bei Fong backstory.
This photo shoot was brilliant.
“That lady is my hero!”
Oh, Toph would be so proud of her.
